Several years ago, as my marriage fell apart, I de Several years ago, as my marriage fell apart, I desperately looked through thousands of listings over many, many months before I found this jewel. To my disbelief (and great fortune!) the landlords actually emailed me back and were open to renting to me (I’m a self-employed emerging artist and it seems like a lot of them prefer to rent to people with more consistent income, amongst other factors)! Sooooooo much was broken or dirty when I moved in (don’t even get me started, this would need its own post haha 🫪), but even despite all of that this apartment was still incredibly, incredibly beautiful and I’ve felt beyond lucky to spend the past year and a half or so slowly polishing it up into my little sanctuary 🪺❤️‍🩹💖 there’s still more to be done (I only just got cereal bowls and sheets that fit the bed properly a few weeks ago haha), but I have so much gratitude for how far I’ve come and for those who have been there for me. Shoutout to all of my friends and family who have helped me along the way, wether it was gifting me something to help me get back on my feet, or coming with me to a plant market to find the perfect new leafy friend - it would have taken so much longer to get to this point, and wouldn’t have been nearly as fun, without a community of support 🥹🥹🥹💛 #bachelorettepad #apartmenttour #girlabroad #onewayticket #apartmentdecorating

I took a year long break from painting (other than a few commissions behind the scenes, s/o to my clients <3) as I put myself back together while going through divorce. ik this is a bit out of my typical wheelhouse but ik this is a bit out of my typical wheelhouse but my friends keep asking for my lasagna / ragu recipe so I thought I’d just share it here so I can send it to them instead of retyping it each time haha 🤭💛 🍅 ingredients 🍅 • 1 box of lasagne pasta • 200ml of besciamella (^ you can make both of these from scratch ofc if you want to be an overachiever) • 700g ground beef • 300g fresh cubed pancetta • 300g celery • 300g carrots • 300g onions • 350g of tomato passata • 1 bottle of red wine (I’ve used the cheapest and nicer bottles and it turns out great both ways tbh) • 2 cubes of vegetable broth (you can use fresh broth of course - you just won’t add additional water) • extra virgin olive oil (approximately 4-5 tablespoons, you can be loosey goosey with it) • 100g finely grated parmigiano reggiano • butter (I prefer to use unsalted, or with .05g salt per every 100g of butter if I’m unable to find unsalted) Instructions in the photos *edit: There is a spelling error on slide 6 - it says ‘procutto’ when it should say ‘pancetta’ Buon appetito 🫶🏻 #livingabroadlife #girlabroad #immigrantlife #firenze❤️ #onewayticket traditional italian recipe
