Description
Frutti del Viaggio was featured as one of my final studies while enrolled as a student at a painting atelier here in Florence. It features three peaches, a copper kettle, and a knife, symbolizing not just the beauty of simply moments but also the rewards and tools gained along my artistic journey.
A funny backstory behind the piece (as well as the title):
On the first day of this study, I walked to class with the peaches I had collected from a local market in a bag, mindlessly swinging it as I chatted on the phone. Upon arriving to school, I reached into the bag to retrieve the peaches and assemble the layout for my study – only to discover that there was a hole in the bag and only one peach remained!
The following day at school, a fellow student came up to me and informed me that during his walk home last night he had spotted my astray peaches along the road. He asked if I would like him to collect them for me, to which I told him “leave them, those peaches are for the streets now!”
