While this book primarily focuses on negotiations in monetary situations I have found Chris Voss’s techniques to be invaluable and revolutionary regarding how to approach other topics as well.
I used to think that some emotions were inherently ‘good’ and others ‘bad,’ and then I read The Language of Emotions by Karla McLaren. This book taught me every emotion is a messenger with a purpose, and how to honor what they are trying to communicate.
This is my all time favorite book. It not only brought me a surprising amount of comfort regarding death, but a new perspective of the gifts (comfortable and uncomfortable) this lifetime has to offer as well.
